like others have said outside is good for a dog, a walk would be great, I can understand you not wanting him to roll around in dirt and sand. Be very careful with the tick medicines especially the drops you put on the back of their necks, my last dog had very weird reactions to that and I hear that is not uncommon. Lola and I just got back from a long walk, it was 46 degrees and I was happy because that is warm for this time of year in MI. We don't walk or spend to much time outside when the ground is wet and covered with snow, not because she gets dirty but her belly and legs get to wet and nasty, even with a coat she can not stay warm. So those days we play a lot of fetch in side. Today her feet got muddy so when we got home, before I even took my coat off I stood her in about 2" of luke warm water in the sink in my laundry room and dried her off with an old towel I keep by the leash, took about 2 min. |
