The top third of the Yorkies ears should be trimmed of hair, even as an adult, this is the most important thing you can do to get the ears to stand. Sometimes a dog's ear will droop when teething and extra calcium can help. There are also a few threads that describe how to tape a yorkies ear. Basically, you shave the whole ear and use a surgical tape to prop the ear up until the cartilage is strong enough to hold it up on its own.
