Welcome to YT.. Many dogs of ALL breeds and sizes are being diagnosed with LP's. now. They are graded and the higher the number the more likely the dog will be in pain and/or need surgery. Also, the surgery has been perfected and is far more affordable if needed.
Do not let the baby get obese. Females should not be bred. And, had running and jumping is not good. When she starts to limp, curtail her activity and ask your vet about meds. The glucosamine/chondroitin is an excellent compound to strengthen the structures of the joint..
