Cookie went to the specialist today for her follow up. He was so happy to see her doing so well. He said that they don't usually recover this quickly. He discontinued the metronidazole and cut the prednisone and pepcid in half. Her protein levels will be checked in three weeks and if they remain normal as they are now he will decrease the meds again. The goal is to get her to a very low dose every other day. I asked if they ever take them completely off of it and he said that he does not like to because they can go bad very quickly. His comment was that yorkies concern him. I am SO thankful that she is doing so well...she performed over there, running around and talking to everyone who would listen.
