I don't agree with this. I think when the right precautions are taken then its fine. I have see some people on here who are not letting there yorkies go out into the back yard but in a small completely enclosed area that has sides and a top and seems very safe and like a good idea for small yorkies. Mine has a doggy door and has fun run of the yard she is also a bigger yorkie and doesn't look like a standard yorkie because of the fact she is bigger and has floppy ears. Also we can pretty much see our whole back yard from the back door and kitchen window so she is mostly watched when she is out there as well as both our neighbors know her and us and would say something if someone was being nosy or something but we would no if someone was hanging around watching her. I love love love the doggy door.
