Hi, I use a wheelchair for mobility due to injuries I received from a motor vehicle accident when I was 20. So I don't have the option of getting on the floor unassisted with my puppy and that's hard but I've found ways around it. I can lean over and pick him up, his toys, give him treats etc. Since it's painful for you to bend over a cheap toy would be to braid some fleece fabric into a long enough rope and just tie the ends off. Although I can train Charlie by leaning over in my chair, I prefer in the beginning stages to place him on the couch in front of me so we are at the same level. I also sit on my chaise lounge or bed and play with him too. Laying on stomach would work fine too just to have that closeness. And it's easy to lift him from floor onto bed etc from laying position too. I know how hard it is not to be able to get down and wrestle with them though. I'm totally independent...do everything for him, play, bathe, walk him, drive him all over...you name it but it hurts when I see how much fun he has with others on the floor knowing that I can't do that with him on my own.
