Oh I completely understand, honestly, I do. I'm one of the most pickiest and over protective Momma's I think God put on this earth, lol. Believe me, if I used Wellness canned dog food and I found what you found in the can, I'd have tossed it to, in a heartbeat. I do agree, it is hard to know what to trust now a days, one day this is good, the next day, nope, it's been found to cause this or that. For me, by LOTS of trial and error, I've learned, if it aint broke, don't fix it, lol. I just went through this with our big furbaby. I tried to put her on a better food cause I wanted the best for her, backfired right in my face :-( And you won't believe the crud I have to feed her.... Purina Dog Chow :-( It's the only thing she can tolerate, and in my opinion, it's crap food. But if her eating it means she can actually poop again and not moo like a cow when she goes and she isn't puking anymore and us running to the vet, then I'll do what our doc said and keep her on the Purina. I wish you the best of luck in finding a food that your lil one can tolerate. It is hard trusting, I know, but you research, I'm sure you'll come up with something that works for you and your baby.
