I give my Yorkies "human food" treats....fit for human consumption! I give as treats Cheerios, small pieces of vanilla wafers, Teddy Grahams, and Gold Fish. They have "no" sugar, "low sugar", whole wheat, salt free, etc in almost all of these snacks....and I only give two or three pieces as a treat....been doing it for years, have never lost a dog because of it yet....They especially like the Gold Fish...and those come baked, whole grain, unbleached flour, no artificial preservatives, zero grams trans fats, reduced sodium....and like I said, they only get two or three for a treat. They have Baby Goldfish....I do not know if those are for toddlers or if they are just smaller than the regular size ones....only "doggie treats" I give my furbabies are ones that are hand made at the local doggie boutique, by a good friend that had lost her Yorkie to kidney disease from doggie treats she bought at PetCo. My babies do not get that many "treats"....they think anything I hand feed them, is a treat....including a piece of their regular kibble! |
