I think Gemy meant just snipping the ends of the hair. After reading her reminder this morning, I did Max's hair because I have been negligent in doing it. Snipping the tips fights off the damaging effects of split ends. Keeps the hair stronger.
It's like human hair. Even if you have really long hair, all one length, you should have the ends snipped once a month to keep the hair shafts from fraying.
