I feed Charlie approx 1/4 cup in the am and 1/4 cup in the pm. Dog food calls for 1/2 cup daily total. He doesn't eat it all. I'm thinking of spreading it into 3 smaller amounts. I do leave some out for training though and he gets treats throughout day training too. I watch him very closely to make sure he has no signs of hyperglycemia. When he is very active outdoors or has a walk he eats more. If I'm concerned even though he shows no signs of trouble I hand feed him a bit or throw some on the floor which he will clean right up.
He will be 17 weeks on Monday and was 2 lb 13 oz 4 weeks ago. Has vaccinations this week. I'm guessing he is 3 lbs something now. Doesn't feel underfed! Mother was 6 or 7 lbs, dad 4 lbs. |
