My girls are older, so we aren't high in training mode
. We use them as part of our daily routine. They get liver treats (1 each) for coming inside after am potty (I got tired of going out in my jammies to get them back in the house
). They get dentastix (1 each) after lunchtime potty, then another small treat after last potty before bed. They have a good canned food for brkfst and good kibble for supper so I don't feel the need to give them more treats
With a puppy, I would use treats as rewards only. Petco carries Wet Noses Organic lilltle stars which appear to be the perfect size for puppies
What are you currently giving as treats (don't worry, you'll get no judgement from me
) what you give might determine how many and how often you give it.
