You have my heartfelt good wishes that everything works out.
It is very stressful to have aging parents with health needs, let alone the other stresses regarding selling the house.
Please know that your father may experience increased confusion in his new home - this is very common in persons with dementia. He may ask to "go home" and he may even be agitated because of the new and unfamiliar surroundings. However, things may go really smoothly - you just never know.
You may even think that you have made a big mistake in moving him - but the increased confusion will pass and he will likely return to his usual self in a few days/weeks. I work with people with dementia and I see this a lot, when a move has to be made.
