Are you using a wire pen or a plastic enclosed crate? As Teresa said the wire pen works much better because they don't feel so shut off from everything and you can always cover it if you want to.
Exercise pens seem to be a good option, too. Puppies need a place to be able to pee when you are not there. It is true you can eventually train them not to go in the crate but young puppies cannot hold it very long. They have tiny organs. Do you have a bathroom or utility room you could gate him in? |
