I actually have a stack of copies of this poem & my DH & I mail them to people , when we drive by & see a poor dog tied out in the mid of winter we get the address & put one in the mail ASAP. We send them to people who have dogs in kennels out in the yard as well. If we see a cat on the outside of someones window sill in the middle of winter as well we send one. We have a couple of diff ones that we send out depending on the situation. This was my DH's idea & we have been doing this for about 6 yrs. He also carries 2 gallons of water in his truck, so when he sees these poor dogs out in the heat with their water dish turned upside down & empty he gives them water. |
