Grooming when the fur is tangle free shows the dog that grooming can be a fun experience. Maybe try one of the spray conditioners to use on the coat if it is tangled so you don't have to tug on his fur.

The main thing is to do it daily. I comb Gracie twice a day. It is quick and easy. The more you handle your pup when he is young the better he will get with it. Just be really gentle and tell how good he was when you are done. Maybe throw the ball for him or do something he really likes when you are done.....if he was good. Not perfect...... just good!
