I have to admit that I am quite obedient and I play when she wants to play. Well, within limits anyway. I find Gracie thinks she can talk and will bark when she wants something. She can get up on my bed because she has pet steps in my room but she will bark at my daughter until she picks her up. Of course that is rewarding the behavior but on the other hand my daughter wouldn't know she was there if she didn't bark.
Gracie also barks when she is playing. I don't want to tell her she can't play and have fun but if it goes on too long I will tell her stop and she will stop. I guess you just have to go by what you want to allow. Dogs bark and some dogs bark more than others but you should be able to put some limits on when it should stop with a "no!" or a "stop!" command.
