I have both a boy and a girl. Chloe is super independent and likes to spend most of her time on her own chewing unless dad is home and then she will cuddle up with him.
Teddy on the other hand is my little shadow and follows me everywhere. He is happiest when he is somehow touching me even if it is only with his tail. DH says that when I'm not home he mopes and picks fights with his sister. If we are both gone for a longer period of time he will find something of mine to destroy / chew to let me know he is upset he got left and I wasn't home.
I think it depends on the personality of the dog as to who it is going to fit most with. I don't think it is a gender thing. When we fostered a female yorkie for our friends who deployed, she only wanted to be near me where as it is the opposite with our two. |
