I have done this many times, but always caught myself. I think it is the routine things of daily life that cause the brain to shut off. Almost all of my unconscious mistakes occur in the kitchen. I should stay out of there.
Our coffee bean container is almost identical to the kibble container, and I have come close to grinding kibble to make coffee when both containers were on the counter at the same time.
