I believe it comes down to the individual doggy, so not every dog will fit perfectly into generalizations.
Max & Teddy's breeder told me that she loves her girls, but her boys are affectionate, cuddly ones. My boys are that way -- very affectionate and cuddly, very playful.
There is a lot of debate over which gender is easier to train. I had zero problems training my boys.
I would love to have a girl to fuss over and dress up, but with my luck, I would end up with a tomboy.
