Brew opted for the ear tattoo when he went in for his snip.
i think i may still get the mirochipping done as an extra precaution, but i like that any old person could see it and know that he has a home.
they can only do the tattoo when he is knocked out, mircochip can be done anytime.
his ears stand up so i was worried at first that he would look like a prison dog
, but it's actually very well done. it's not near the tops of the ear it's deeper inside the ear so some of his hair covers it up at bit. i'm really happy with how it turned out. his tattoo say 2JAZ. 2=the number of neuters they have done for the year, JA=connects to the vets office, Z=the year 2012. it's pretty much the same size as the font i'm typing in.
i feel like in the rual area we live in people are more likely to see something, then to think of a microchip.
i wouldn't say the mircochip is a bad idea at all though.
