yes its because of the higher protein count. Morgan does this too when switching foods at first but then goes back to her normal water intake. If Baby eats all her food at one time and isn't a grazer (like morgan), maybe try adding water to the kibble so she's taking in both at the same time. Her body isn't used to processing that amount of protein so the kidneys need more water. If her intake level doesn't subside then I'd take her off the food. Orijen is a good food though. The company that makes it also makes Acana which i think is lower in protein and just as good.
