As soon as the pups are around 4 weeks old I introduce them to the ground up dry puppy food. I grind it dry in a blender until it is the consistency of corn meal. I leave a small bowl of the ground up food in their pen along with a small bowl of water. The momma is likely to eat the ground food too but that is fine because she will be teaching the pups to eat it and the food is good for her. After about a week of feed the ground up food I also put out a small plate of food consisting of the ground up dry food with some canned Pedigree puppy food added to it. I mix it well so it is like a moist meal.
