If you can continue using kibble, do it! Just use it a meal replacement so you are not over-feeding, but that's as with any treat.
Jackson really likes the soft Buddy Biscuits and I can break them up into many pieces. Very high-value is usually plain chicken breast or low fat string cheese on occasion.
