I don't think you're being too hard on him! He has been on the other side of this, and he has to know that in the end, everyone will be watching. Whoever he ends up engaged to is going to see what he says. Chances are, he's already kissed the woman he ends up with. It's like someone proposing to you, and then telling you "My ex was a way better kisser" He needs to keep that to himself, especially this early in the game! Of course, this is if that's not the girl he ends up with!
