I asked my local Petsmart about it before...I was curious al well. They said that the stuff they sell the most of, being the cheaper products, the put closer to the front for convience of the consumer. THe more expensive stuff goes to the back, as those that are going to buy it, will, no matter that they have to walk to the back of the store. It also was mentioned that it was a merchandising/sales "plan" as if a new consumer comes in to browse and sees all this pricey stuff they might not come back. however, if they see prices comparable to the grocery store, Target, Walmart, etc, they are more likely to come back and look for more items. That's just what they said. I told them I didn't like the hike to the back of the store. I now buy my food at a small specialty store because it is the only place that sells Innova. All their food is in the middle of the store, and there is NO "cheap" stuff. Innova, Wellness, Merrick, Solid Gold and I think that's it.
