snowWA-
I did take my puppy to many places because he could not be left home alone (we are renters, and we did not have his pet deposit paid yet, which i had mentioned). I didnt take him to the mall (i dont know where you got mall from, maybe from someone before me ), and the places that i did take him (like my classes and the movies) i was allowed to bring him in. When i took him to my moms house the first day that i got him, yes, there was a lot of people... but he was only really handled by me.... others got to look but not touch. .. As for the dogs that were at the house, there were a few of them too (about three) but i knew them, they were not strangers. and i agree with you, i wouldnt hand my dog off to strangers either.... I find it a bit harsh that you would "wonder what the owners IQ is", especially when a lot of dogs prefer to be in their "bags" "napsacks" purses... whatever they are called. Rest assured there were no books in the backpack and he had the whole space to himself (with a cuddly blanky) and the top of the backpack completely open.
I AM PARTICULARLY OFFENDED BY YOURE STATEMENT THAT I WILL HAVE A HAPPY HEALTHY LITTLE DOG (joke,....down)
....lol.... he weighs 13 lbs now, there is no way in hell i would drag him around everywhere (to be honest i think I would tire out more than him...hehe) and as for putting him in a backpack yeah right. He stays home most the time now, and he has since we paid the deposit. We were only in the habit of taking him evrywhere for about three months after we got him. after that we paid the deposit and werent afraid that he was going to be found out anymore.

This was just my experience when we got the dog.... my main "attitude" is just to do what you gotta go to make it work (which is what i did) obviously other people can make it work by keeping the puppy at home, but that wasnt a feesable option for us.
