We have a farm where we go on weekends. I love to walk and since it is warm here most of the year we are able to walk most times. Total it is about 5 miles. We have "rest stop" spots. My yorkies will walk/run the hole time, but come to a halt at those spots. We rest, have water and when the bunch gets "antsy" start off again! Even the 15 wk olds participate. I was worried, but they seem to set the pace. When one gets tired the group seem to know and slow down until the other catches up. It wears out the dogs and they get the extra exercise they lack in town. Its amazing how long they can run/walk. So far they are still raring to go when I am done. If they do get tired, we just sit for awhile and start again. Its great fun, good exercise and the dogs learn to watch me for signals of where we are going.
