poison control is definitely the way to go - someone is always there 24 hrs a day, and if it's something odd your dog, other creature or human friend got into they will do a great follow up job. Yrs ago before they yanked the Today Sponge off the market (its back out now) one of my Bichons ate part of one after I threw it in the trash. Ok, here's the funny part - I was married then and my husband was in charge of the local poison control center, but since we were at home, he made me call in and talk to whoever was working - so they wouldn't make the connection. Of course the guy who answered didn't know anything about the Sponge - and I had to explain it's a contraceptive, not just some house sponge!! My sweet pup survived the Sponge, if only I could say the same for me because of the poisonous, scam artist of a man I ended up being married to - after I figured him out, so did his employer and they canned him. But I'm still a believer in the Poison Control Centers - those folks are well trained!
