Default need some advice - how many treats is okay to give?

when i first brought my four month old miles home, he was eating purina puppy chow (Puppy Food: Premium Puppy Food from Purina® Puppy Chow® brand Puppy Food) pretty much any kind of purina "chow" is terrible low quality food, something i learned by caring for my cats.. so i am in the process of switching him over to blue buffalo small breed puppy formula (Blue Buffalo Life Protection Small Breed Chicken & Oatmeal Puppy Food - New Puppy Center - Dog - PetSmart) he is eating a mixture of half and half, and gets 1/4 cup to 1/3 cup a day depending on his appetite

recently i brought home some bil jac training treats (Little-Jacs Dog Treats), and he absolutely loves them! my question of these, how many of these is ok to give him per day? currently i have been giving him 6.. they are very tiny and bite sized, and i've even been cutting them in half to get more use out of them. i haven't noticed any changes in his stool or anything.. but i just want to be sure.. i don't want to make him sick.

thanks everyone for all your help, and for being patient with this new momma
