The first two nights I had Pixies Crate on my night stand, she slept 8 hours both nights... the third night she cried! She wanted to be downstairs in her xpen with her other crate and her food and her water and her kong... She has really bonded with her "part of the House" Her X-pen, save haven, has become her own special place... she plays and when she is sleepy she walks into her crate and passes out! its so cute to watch!

It took 3 days of the most intense barking to break her in that xpen.... She wanted to be out and underfoot! But we let it go and did not respond... she figured it out quickly... She will still try a few barks to try and sucker us into letting her out... but everyone in the house knows that she does not come out unless she is being good and is NOT barking.

The kong is a good pacifier, it takes care of the fisrt few minutes you "leave" and in time the pup will learn to entertain its self... Just think about how long it takes most children to be self entertaining.... without TV, nintendo, toys, and other stimulations.... our children wine too! Its tough to teach them that they must make do by themselves... but they get it if you push it.
