I use fleece for my background. And as far as props, I just get things around the house. For Mikki's picture I just used a white rose that I had.

I actually take my girls pictures in my bathroom. I have a huge window in there and the lighting is just better than any other places in my house. I have found that lighting makes a HUGE difference.
