Welcome to YT. I'm so sorry to hear about Buddy, it's always so hard when they start growing old.
I had similar worries when my Alexander started showing signs of confusion and disorientation. Before making any decisions, I HIGHLY recommend you talk to your vet about a medicine called Anipryl, which I learned about in my thread here
