There is a difference between a dog with fur and a dog with hair. A dog with fur has a seasonal undercoat which is heavier in the colder months and is shed in warmer months. The fur doesn't grow longer therefore the dog rarely if ever needs an actual haircut A dog with hair does not have an under coat and therefore does not shed but the hair grows and needs to by cut or at least trimmed to keep its shape, A yorkie has hair and does not shed in the usual way. THey do occasionally lose a few hairs just like you do. I keep my dog in what is called a puppy cut(a shorter haircut) because it suits her better. In winter she wears a sweater or a coat for extra warmth. Hope this helps.
