Just spoke with customer relations rep at Novartis (800-332-2761).
She said that Excedrin and GasX products are made at the same facility as their Interceptor line. There were issues with the production of the Excedrin and GasX causing production of all items mfg'd there to be halted. She said the issues were not with their Interceptor line, and that mfg'g has resumed, but they are on back-order due to the temporary shut-down. I asked if any lots of Interceptor had been recalled... she said there are no recalls on the product line, and that production was only disrupted due to the mfg issues of the other products at the facility.

Thanks! Jackson is on Interceptor now. But he took Iverhart Plus for the first 3 years of his life. No reason for the switch other than our local vet sells the Interceptor and it was easier to get (though more expensive). But I never had any issues with Iverhart.
From what I know, it's basically the generic Heartguard Plus.
