I say go for it! Splurge and get the human hair kind, most def! The synthetic kinds don't look as nice. Or if anything, there is a cheaper Japanese kanekalon (sp?) fiber that is synthetic, but looks pretty close to real. It's like a nice yorkie full coat, LOL.

If you don't want something so expensive, have you tried the clip in ponytail type extensions? I used to wear those all the time going out. Just put your hair in a high pony and clip the hair onto your (my) pathetic hair, and voila! It was a little sad coming home and taking the hair off in front of the mirror though. It's a much cheaper alternative and you can buy several styles.

I would not recommend actual hair extensions, as the long term effects make you loose more hair in the end anyway.
