Love the 'exploding seat' hypothesis!
Being a biker myself, DH and I see lots of furry riders. Harley's riding position is unique among the ones I have personally witnessed, but we saw a little guy riding on a motorcycle tank with no restraints...we were in traffic with him and his folks...they rode up beside us and stopped and we chatted. His folks said he jumped up on the bike on his own the first time and now goes everywhere with them. we were all on a secondary highway (65 mph) and they gave me permission for me to take photos. Very cute, he was!
