Another thread made me think of this so I decided to share here. Let me preface this by saying I do not think the world is going to end until God is ready for it to...be that 2012 or a zillion years from now. This is just a funny story I wanted to share.
Not trying to upset anyone or start any debates or anything.
The movie 2012 came out in 2010 or there about. That would make my youngest daughter about 6 at the time. She, Eva, LOVES calendars.
She loves writing on them....doing countdowns to birthdays, special events, etc. She can usually tell you exactly how many days until whatever is the upcoming fun thing.
I never saw the movie 2012 but a friend was telling me about it. My daughter Eva is adopted from Guatemala, so her ancestors are Maya. I joked with my friend that I'll just ask Eva when
the world was gonna end. Eva is hilarious...without meaning to be. She always says the goofiest things and cracks us (and herself
) up.
So, I came home and said, "So, Eva, when's the world gonna end?" She didn't really know what I was asking, but for obvious reasons I didn't elaborate...I just wanted her off the cuff response. Honest to God, this was her exact response:
"I don't know. I'll have to check my calendar." 
ummmm, seeing how the whole 2012 end of the world thing is based on the Mayan calendar...that made me pause for a minute!
