I have never had a professional pedicure. When I was a teen, I saw a CNN report about the foot tubs and a young woman whose legs were horribly scarred from an infection she picked up from a dirty tub while having a pedicure. She had shaved her legs right before she had her toes done and the docs thought that may have made her more susceptible to the infection. The report featured other women who picked up nasty things.
