It is a bit astounding what some people will pay for size or color, no interest in the breed standard. I believe because there are people out there that acquire for the wrong reasons the "greeders" assume there's a large market. I do feel bad for the entire situation, and would hope at the very least these pups aren't too unhealthy and having been purchased by someone of means, will live a happier life. In a sense, they are also rescues, not just purchased pets
