I can't speak to other types of hair, but my hair is straight and (for the most part) the only styling I do is with a couple of round brushes and my blow dryer. So my arms are in the air during the whole drying time. I love that the T3 featherweight is only 13 oz...doesn't kill my arms. Also, love how I my hair is completely smooth, with no frizzies at all, when I'm done drying/styling it. For my hair, it's worth the money.
This is my second one and I've had it about 3 years. The other one is still going strong, but my son used it to dry paint on his jeep and it got black paint & silicone from his hands on it. So it's now in his tool box
