When I had my daughter many years ago, I had Zorro my very sweet male Yorkie. He was my baby for 6 years and loved to sit in my lap. When I went to the hospital to have my dd it was the first time I had been away from him. When we came home, I had my Mom bring my daughter in to the house and put her in her crib, while I went to my bedroom. Zorro wouldn't come near me at first. After awhile he came over to me and made up. Later that night, I was holding her on my lap and she had to wear a little knit cap because she was a preemie. Well Zorro ran up and snatched it right off her head. He didn't hurt her of course. After that I would feed her while he was sitting in my lap and they got along great. He would sit by her little carrier on the floor and watch over her. Congratulations and I hope they adjust well. |
