You can take some light cardboard, like that on a match package and cut it just a bit smaller than the shape of the inside ear leather, and tape that to the ear with masking tape, then put a piece of tape from one ear to the other in a standing position on both the back and front of ears. If he does not get it off, you will have to take it off after about 4 or 5 days and let the ear rest for a couple of days and redo if necessary.
