I agree with you. You were not scammed. However, hindsight here will be 20/20 as well. I sincerely think the people who you got your puppy from are honest, and nice. But they didn't know what they were doing when they bred their dogs. Did they study their lines? How far back? Where their dogs genetically tested for any diseases? Where their ancestors? If your dog does have a heart condition, it could be genetic. A nice home and good intentions can't guarantee a healthy dog alone.

I think at this point all you can do is be honest with the breeders and let them know what is going on. Share copies of the vet's test results with them. Look over your contract and see if they will be assisting you with vet costs.

I hope the little one gets better and it's nothing serious.
