 Alone
Is it bad to leave my Yorkie alone? He is 16 weeks now. I go to work and keep him in a large bathroom while I am away with his soft bed and toys, something to chew on, food and water.
Also, for a good part of the night I put him in the same place so that it is dark and he is not disturbed while I am still up and in the light. So he can sleep in peace, and so can I. Is it bad for him to do this?
I've had him a week and he is fine in terms of temperament. It does not seem to have had ill-effects, but I know I would not like to be left alone like this. Am I being cruel. What alternatives do I have?
The cleaner comes twice a week and she gives him hugs, and I do not leave him alone during the day on weekends. So in the end he is alone 3 out of 7 days a week. |
