Hi there and congrats on getting your baby back. Have all the pets been re-united and how did that go? I bet the smell is either from the infection (bloody lump) or just from going sooo long without a grooming.
Did it seem like he'd been stray for a while or had he been taken care of for a while?
You might want to ask the vet to write a statement as to whether his injuries/scars are consistent with a pit attack. I say this because you said they people who picked him up never filed a report. It will help your case (if you pursue one, or even if you just call attention to the problem) because if there is no report they might accuse you of just having "lost" him, having injuries consistent with your claim will help show the truth. From what you described it totally sounds like dog attack scars to me, especially if the injuries are near the head/neck. Poor puppy.
Does he seem a lot different? Obviously he is older so maybe losing a tiny bit of puppyness, but is he timid or scared? I hope not. Who knows, he may have had amazing adventures once he was healed. Dogs sure love exploring, smelling and tasting outside, and he had a buddy!
Enjoy you family and thanks for sharing, it's nice to read amazing happy stories! |
