Default Yorkie That Was Hit In S Plainfield

This is the little Yorkie that was hit in S. Plainfield and left to die on the side of the road. For those that don't know the story, a good samaritan found her still breathing and rushed her to a vet hospital. My husband and I unsure as to what would happen to her if no one came forward, called and we drove almost two hours to her today and spent some time with her and brought her a care package. Her vet bills were substantial, and if no one came forward she would have been turned over to the local shelter. She is very weak and needs probably about six weeks of crate care the vet said. A shelter environment would have been rough, if she would have survived it at all there and whether or not they'd put her down there due to some nuerological she needs work with. My husband is a good guy, he donated $500 towards her care and if no one comes forward to claim her by Monday (Which is the legal time they have to keep her) then we will drive back and bring her home with us. I estimate her to be about four to five years old. She is all skin and bones, but seemed to have been cared for somewhat becase she's not matted and her nails are neatly trimmed, yet she was infested with fleas when she arrived so I can't figure it out. She's unspayed so more then likely at some point she was bred. They've searched for an owner and she is not microchipped. You would think someone would be looking for her. Here she is pictured from our visit with her today. Hubby is in the background and she is with some of the stuff we brought to her. Please keep this little one in your prayers.
