This is a very old thread, so you may not get any responses from the people who posted earlier.

The correct dilution ration depends on the product brand and your dog. Each one is different, but you can't go wrong. Experiment with each bath. Some products will have suggestions for diluting on the bottle.

Diluting may help a little relative to rinsing, but there is no way around spending extra time rinsing. Some people use a water and apple cider vinegar mix to remove shampoo residue. I don't recall the dilution rate on that. Very little apple cider vinegar is needed. Other people recommend using a clarifying shampoo every 4-6 weeks.
