Maybe try some belly bands- This is not a long time resort. Your dog needs to know where to go potty. You have already got some good advice. It is all about taking them out, limiting the space, cleaning the spot with a good cleaner, and WATCHING THEM. I’ve heard good and bad thing about potty pads. Now that I have a house my male is getting trained to go outside. I will tell you one thing, my 4 year old still will lift his leg, and have accidents. So it does take A LOT of work and discipline to train them.

I would NEVER or will EVER hit my dog or rub his nose in it.Hitting your dog, and rubbing their nose in the pee is not going to work. If you read any training books that is the worse thing you can do. Also I believe if you loved your dog dearly you would be more pro active in reading books, doing research, and maybe even getting him a trainer. I hope you take this positive and try to figure out the root of the problem.
