Well, I have always owned dogs, but hubby didn't grow up with any. I have a friend who has a yorkie and I fell in love with him. BUT, hubby said no dogs. I waited until we had a few friends over, including our friend's yorkie. As the night went on and hubby had a few 'adult beverages', I asked him in front of everyone. (so he couldn't say the next day that he didn't say yes). And, he said yes! Then, 2 yrs later, I wanted another one and he said no again, so I waited until the opportune time to ask again. That particular time, he had done something that had upset me and he knew it. The very next day, I asked for another yorkie and since hubby was in the 'dog house' at the time, I think he said yes, to ease the tension. LOL. So there ya go.

I just recently got a 4 month old Maltese (owned a maltese previously) I asked for him as a Christmas gift, same story as the first. We were at a party and I asked after he had a few drinks. So what do you think he said? LOL

I did, however make sure he was REALLY okay with dogs before I went through the research and adopting process or I would not have gotten them if I didn't have his support.
