My letter, mailed today:

The Honorable R.E. Lee Davies
Post Office Box 1469
Franklin, TN 37065

Dear Judge Lee:

I am writing in regard to your decision to auction off the puppies seized in the Jennifer Silliski case. Please reconsider and let the foster families who have taken such good care of these little ones have the first opportunity to adopt them. They have invested much time, money, and most importantly, love, in caring for these unfortunate victims of animal cruelty. They have truly “paid” for them with their caring.

Families who foster animal shelter animals are loving, responsible people with the animals’ best interests at heart. Every shelter counts on these stalwart and loving people to help in times of need. When the community, animal shelters, and the courts work as a caring team to stamp out animal cruelty and right some of these awful wrongs, everyone wins -- most of all, the animal victims who cannot speak for themselves.

Please reconsider your plan to auction all of these animals and allow any foster families who wish to adopt them to do so.

Thank you very much for your kind consideration.
